Review of the bookmaker Mybet.Africa from Legalbet

Mybet.Africa is a product of the British owned company, Mybet. In 2018, they branched out to form their own betting platform that has over time grown to be among the top tier betting companies in Ghana. To show how well they are doing, since their branching out, they have been able to get over 50,000 active users on the platform and the number keeps increasing. They are licensed and regulated by the gaming commission of Ghana.

Odds — bad

We calculated the margin for Mybet.Africa by analysing the odds they offer. We further ranked them in one of the following three categories:

From 1% to 5%: Good value

Over 5% to 7%: Average value

Over 7% to 10%: Poor value

Football

We’re getting our results by taking into account the odds for final result outcomes measured in line with the total goals scored for different football leagues. By getting the average results using this method, we were able to obtain the margins for each league and also the overall betting margin for the bookmaker.

Mybet.Africa has an overall margin of 7.57% for football and falls in the poor value category. In the first section using odds from the English Premier League, the margin is at 7.25%. The second section with Spanish La Liga and Italian Serie A, has a margin of 7.18%. Finally, by counting the English Football League One, Austrian Bundesliga and Polish Ekstraklasa, the margin is at 8.28%.

Betting options — good

Range of Sports: Mybet.Africa is a relatively new betting platform that recently just branched out from its European franchise. Mybet.Africa understands the essence of having variety and as such makes provisions for a wide range of sports selection. However, there is room for addition of even more sporting events. As at the time of writing, their sportsbook includes 17 different sports in total. You can bet on popular sports like Football, basketball, tennis, ice hockey and not so popular sports like darts, golf, cricket and formula 1 on it.

The interface for the sports selection is easily maneuverable. You won't find it hard to navigate from one sport to another and wager on its markets. However, they could do better in the aspect of a better interface. Their website is predominantly yellow and green themed to go with the colors of Ghana but there is a plain setting when customers are selecting games, especially on the desktop version.

Moving further, the average casino lover will definitely enjoy the Mybet.Africa platform. They boast a wide array of casino games to pick from. From Roulette to Blackjack to High Striker and many more, they have over 35+ different casino games to select what suits you. They also have a live casino section where bettors can follow their games live as it happens.

Finally, the virtual lovers are not left out with an equally good number of games being available to choose. The popular football virtuals, greyhounds, horses, speedway and motorbikes are some of the games they have on display.

Range of Bets and Markets: It is a no brainer that punters have a soft spot for bookies who make provision for a wide range of betting options. The reason is not so far-fetched as the more the markets available, the higher the interest of any player, invariably. Mybet.Africa understands this too well and as such made provisions for a wide range of betting options that will get punters excited. The only caveat to this is that the concentration is more on popular sports like football. Whereby, other sports like ice hockey, rugby and handball are lacking in number of betting options.

If you are a lover of football, you would definitely love betting on football events on the platform. Each event has over 500 betting markets to pick from. We are talking of options like "Chance Mix" "First goal" "Halftime/Fulltime." You will even get to see more special options like "VAR" which is only offered by a few bookies in the Ghanaian betting scene.

Betting limits: There aren’t any particular limitations when we’re talking about the money you can place on a bet with Mybet. Though you may expect the less popular markets having lower betting limits as is the case usually.

Live — normal

Mybet also have the option of live betting available to their customers. However, there is a lot of work to be done in order to make this section more pleasing to the eye. As at the time of this review, we only found football, basketball and tennis as the available sports for live betting. After a closer look we also noticed that these sports had very limited options especially for basketball and tennis. To go with, the interface is a bit complex looking and particularly has a poor mobile view that needs to be improved. Live streaming is something that needs to start being seen on Ghanaian bookmakers and Mybet isn’t an exception to that.
